Bartolomeo Campagnoli (1751–1827)
6 Duos for Flute and Violin
Bartolomeo Campagnoli gained a great reputation for his demanding violin technique in the double stops and for his cultivated performance, this was documented by contemporaries such as Louis Spohr and Ernst Ludwig Gerber. Campagnoli's main merit lies in the composition of violin pedagogical works and in the introduction of bowing with the first finger limb. In this way he had a significant influence on violin playing.
